Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Pet Care Associate to join our team at Canal Bark. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional care and attention to the pets in our facility, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cleanliness and Hygiene: Maintain a clean and safe environment for our pets by sanitizing and disinfecting enclosures and general boarding areas.
  • Dietary Needs: Ensure each pet receives the correct type and quantity of food for each meal and maintain cleanliness of food prep areas.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor and accurately chart consumption and elimination of every pet guest; bring concerns to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
  • Supervision and Activities: Supervise group play for dogs and/or individual activities for pet guests; may be required to assist with bathing and brushing of canine guests.
  • Waste Management: Check and pick up excrement from enclosures and other areas as needed throughout the day.
  • Belongings and Laundry: Monitor pet belongings; clean belongings as needed; assure the return of pet belongings to owners.
  • Housekeeping: Perform daily laundering of pet bedding and towels.

Requirements:

  • Expertise & Experience: Must be a pet fanatic – pets are part of our family. Professional animal care/kennel experience preferred.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must frequently lift 40 pounds. Must be able to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently.
  • Licensing and Certifications: None required.
