Chief Information Officer

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) is a key leadership position at Georgia College & State University, responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight for the university's information technology department. The CIO will lead the development and implementation of integrated IT plans and policies, ensuring the university's technology infrastructure supports academic excellence and student success.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide institutional-wide leadership and direction in the management and operation of information technologies and services.
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Information Technology department, including operations, information security, enterprise applications, infrastructure, and technology support services.
• Develop and implement strategic IT plans and policies, ensuring alignment with the university's strategic goals and objectives.
• Lead the process of determining priorities, projects, and future directions of the university's IT functions.
• Collaborate with other units across campus to ensure the university is leading the way with innovative pedagogies and classroom environments that support excellence in teaching and successful student learning outcomes.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 10 years of IT-related experience, with 3-5 years at management level; experience with Project Management.
• Combination of degree and experience considered.
• Experience with enterprise-level ERP systems like Banner, PeopleSoft, Workday, etc.; higher education experience or experience within the University System of Georgia.
• Master's degree in IT-related field preferred.
• 10+ years of IT leadership experience preferred.
