With a rapidly growing population of Americans aged 65 and older, our mission is to advance public policy, spark innovation, and drive excellence in the fields of aging and home and community-based services.

We represent and support the network of Area Agencies on Aging and advocate for the Title VI Native American Aging Programs that serve millions of older adults, people with disabilities, and caregivers throughout the nation. Our members are the local leaders that develop, coordinate, and deliver a wide range of home and community-based services, including information and referral/assistance, case management, home-delivered and congregate meals, in-home services, caregiver supports, transportation, evidence-based health and wellness programs, long-term care ombudsman programs, and more.

**Job Summary**

The Accounting Manager is responsible for supporting the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with financial-related functions, which may include monthly reporting and accounting reconciliations, preparing financial statements, accounting analysis, budgeting, and assisting with financial audits. This role requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, as it interfaces with all levels of USAging staff. The ideal candidate will have extensive accounting knowledge and sound judgment to plan and successfully accomplish departmental and individual goals.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure of USAging.
  • Prepare accurate and timely periodic financial statements, including general ledger journal entries/reconciliations, cash management and bank reconciliations, fixed assets and depreciation accounting, and monthly Statement of Financial Position and Statement of Activities.
  • Assist with the annual budget development, along with the budget development and financial components of grant applications, and manage the financial tracking of all awarded grants.
  • Support the CFO with directing USAging's financial functions, including establishing and maintaining account principles, practices, and internal controls.
  • Assist in the preparation and oversight of year-end audits related to financial and Uniform Guidance.
  • Support the CFO with special projects and workflow process improvement, including policies and procedures within the Finance Team and USAging.

**Benefits and Compensation**
