Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Market Clerk to join our team at United Family Services Inc. This is a full-time position that requires excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional customer service to guests, ensuring their needs are met and they have a positive experience.
  • Maintain a clean and well-stocked service counter, market, and preparation area, adhering to company standards.
  • Order products to ensure adequate supply and maintain product quality, freshness, and proper variety.
  • Perform receiving duties, including breaking down loads, cutting cases, stacking, pricing, and marking merchandise.
  • Verify orders against invoices, audit product contents, and complete necessary forms and reports accurately.
  • Stock, rotate, and face products, preventing shrink and damage, and follow code dating procedures.
  • Open and set up butcher block case and close and pull down according to company procedures.
  • Follow daily work schedule as assigned by management.
  • Follow dress code and attendance guidelines as outlined in the associate handbook.
  • Perform meat wrapper duties as assigned and assist with training new associates.
  • Replace market supplies as necessary and perform other duties as assigned or requested by management.
Requirements:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, efficient, and controlled manner.
  • Ability to perform all physical aspects of meat department duties, including standing, bending, lifting, squatting, reaching, twisting, climbing, and walking.
  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 100 lbs. regularly and push/pull fully loaded hand trucks and pallet jacks.
  • Hands frequently exposed to 30F while handling product in display cases.
  • Manual dexterity and good eye-hand coordination necessary.
  • Ability to operate related equipment, including scales, knives, band saws, meat tenderizers, meat slicers, and grinders, and keep accurate records.
  • Ability to work for periods of up to 8-10 hours in 50 degree temperatures (controlled atmosphere for sanitation purposes).
  • Ability to function as an associate and get along with others.
Compensation:

The estimated salary for this position is $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
