Northrop Grumman is a leading provider of innovative solutions for defense and aerospace. We are seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to lead our team in the development of advanced aircraft systems.

Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Chief Engineer. The successful candidate will have demonstrated knowledge and experience of aircraft systems, including mission computing, communications, sensors, and air vehicle interfaces. Leadership and communication skills are essential to drive issues to closure and provide clear insight to leadership. Experience with Agile concepts and software development is also required.

About the Role:
This position will report to the Engineering Director & Platform CE for the capture program, working alongside the Mission System Program Manager in an IPT program construct. The Chief Engineer will maintain cognizance over technical activities within the assigned portion of the IPT, ensuring the program adheres to sound engineering processes. They will also ensure the configuration of the deliverable product and technical approaches achieve expected system performance, enabling long-term program sustainment, and meeting technical requirements as they support the SETR Process (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, FRR, FCA, PCA).

Responsibilities:
The successful applicant will have the following responsibilities:
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience of aircraft systems, including air vehicle interfaces, mission computing, communications, software, and sensors
• Experience with leading cross-functional engineering teams in developing and baselining the technical baseline for medium-large subsystems
• Ability to craft technical plans, trade studies, and courses of action to shape technical development
• Experience in supporting supplier SSOW, SRD, and scope discussions for technical lines between organization, deliverables, and expectations
• Active DoD Secret clearance (or higher) that is in-scope (granted or renewed in the last 6 years)

Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have:
• A Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline AND 14 years of experience on manned or unmanned aircraft systems
• A Master's degree AND 12 years of experience on manned or unmanned aircraft systems
• A Ph.D. AND 9 years of experience on manned or unmanned aircraft systems
• Familiarity with tactical weapon system software development, avionics integration laboratories, flight test, and associated data analysis and reduction

What We Offer:
Northrop Grumman offers a competitive salary range of $162,500 - $243,700. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
