Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Psychiatric Technician to join our team at the University of Maryland Medical Center Baltimore Washington. As a key member of our behavioral health team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial intake interviews with patients and families to assess their needs and develop individualized care plans.
  • Assist in the evaluation and assessment of patients' conditions and psychological functioning, observing and interacting with patients to determine symptoms and changes in behavior.
  • Participate in therapeutic milieu activities and stimulate patients to participate in scheduled daily activities, such as community meetings and groups.
  • Document patient information accurately and completely, following unit and division standards.
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding promptly and appropriately to customer questions and concerns.
Requirements
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) licensure
  • Basic Life Support - Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP) certification
  • One year of full-time experience as a technician in a mental health setting
  • Basic knowledge and working experience with Medical Terminology
