Job Title: Network Operations Center Engineer

Our client, a leading Telecommunications company, is seeking a highly skilled Network Operations Center Engineer to join their team.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining the company's network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance. This role will involve working closely with the Engineering team to design, build, and test new network circuits and capacity activations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain the company's network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Work closely with the Engineering team to design, build, and test new network circuits and capacity activations.
  • Coordinate with cable station engineers and customers to develop and implement plans for network activities.
  • Perform checks on network status and condition prior to planned activities.
  • Assist in the implementation and operational validation testing of upgrades and new systems, equipment, or capacity in the network.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of technical training documentation and company-provided methods and procedures.
  • Be conversant with and follow company-provided methods and procedures for NOC and cable station/POP activities.
Requirements:
  • 4+ years of working experience in a Network Operations Center, subsea cable station, or telecommunications Point of Presence (POP) environment.
  • Strong analytical and fault-finding skills with the ability to prioritize network and customer troubles.
  • Good communication skills, including verbal and written communication and presentation skills in a technical environment.
  • Understanding of Service Level Agreements and objectives.
  • Good understanding of the documentation of technical methods and procedures.
  • Excellent ability to capture and document event-driven reports and diagnosis for customers and management.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office Application suite, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Ability to communicate with engineers and customers of different nationalities and cultural backgrounds.
Desirable Experience:
  • Technical understanding of Submarine Network and DWDM technologies, specifically Alcatel, Infinera, Juniper, ADVA, Tyco, Xtera, Fujitsu, Ciena, and Cisco equipment.
  • Advanced knowledge of interaction between network management systems and particular equipment or sections of the network and how they interact with each other.
