Heavy Equipment Technician

Fueling and servicing trucks and equipment is a critical role at Knife River. As a Heavy Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for performing maintenance on trucks and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition. This includes safely operating equipment, standard and specialty tools, welders, hoists, and other lifting devices.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance on trucks and equipment
- Anticipate and order necessary parts and supplies
- Clean work areas and fill out shop orders daily
- Drive and maintain service trucks
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and management
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, MSHA, EPA, DNR, and other safety and environmental regulations
- Valid Class B CDL with air brakes (Class A CDL preferred)
- Hazard material or ability to obtain a license
- Qualifying driving record under company policy
- Heavy truck and equipment repair experience preferred
- Ability to pass a post-offer pre-employment drug test, physical, and background check
