Senior Laser Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled R&D Materials Specialist to join our team at Coherent Corp.

Job Summary

This role involves developing and characterizing new materials using additive/conventional manufacturing techniques.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute experiments to develop equivalent and new materials
• Operate advanced equipment, including additive manufacturing machines and thermal processing equipment
• Conduct technical activities, including powder processing, programming, and record keeping
• Interface with external entities, including raw materials vendors and test labs
• Work on manufacturing prototypes using additive manufacturing to develop new products
• Adhere to quality and safety procedures, including ISO 9000 and 14001 standards
• Participate in performance review process and special projects as required

Requirements

• BS or MS in materials engineering, mechanical engineering, or related disciplines
• 1-2 years of hands-on experience with additive manufacturing and laboratory equipment
• Experience with precision measurement methods and systems is desirable
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings/blueprints and process procedures
