We are seeking a Chief Software Engineering Leader to join our team at Mastercard Incorporated in New York City. As a leader in software engineering, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of large-scale engineering projects in our Connect Program. Your primary goal will be to advance the Connect Experience and provide the best customer experience possible.

About the Role

As a Chief Software Engineering Leader, you will lead overall delivery of large-scale engineering projects in the Connect Program. This includes guiding the team in advancing the Connect Experience using full-stack development knowledge. You will be responsible for raising the bar on technical excellence, showing thought leadership, and ensuring team delivery commitments are met.

Responsibilities
  • Formally supervise and coach 2+ teams of engineers to build, enhance, and support multiple applications/services in the delivery of internal or market-facing Products, Platforms, or Product bundles.
  • Work with business/product owners to develop and deliver on new services to introduce new products and bundles.
  • Ensure objectives and development plans are established at the start of the year and reviewed continuously throughout the year.
  • Recruit and hire the right talent, always bringing in someone better than at least half the individuals in the role.
  • Continuously engage and improve teams' performance by conducting recurring 1-1 meetings, knowing your people, managing career development, and understanding who is at risk.
Requirements
  • Proven experience leading software development teams in a geographically distributed and/or remote work environment.
  • Track record demonstrating the ability to build a diverse and strong team - attracting, hiring, retaining, motivating the best talent.
  • Consistent track record delivering complex projects in an Agile development environment.
  • Has skills to document and coach team on the development practices and coding guidelines.
  • Experience in building complex, highly scalable, performant, secure and reliable software systems.

Salary

The estimated salary range for this position is $164,000 - $256,000 per year, based on location and other factors.
