Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Nuclear medicine technologists play a vital role in diagnosing and treating diseases. As an imaging expert, you will be responsible for performing technical procedures using radionuclides to diagnose and treat various medical conditions. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform nuclear medicine procedures using radionuclides under the direction of a manager or medical director
- Receive patients, verify identification, and review orders for procedures
- Recognize and respond to emergency situations, maintaining a calm and composed demeanor
- Obtain patient history, check for procedural contradictions, and maintain sterile technique as required
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare workers
- Prepare patients for procedures, select and administer radionuclides, and operate auxiliary equipment
- Evaluate image appearance, perform additional views, and process computer-generated data
- Maintain accurate records of doses distributed to patients and adhere to radiation safety protocols
Requirements:
- Certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB) or Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)
- 1-year experience in nuclear medicine technology
- Strong background in physics and chemistry, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in operating radiation safety equipment and following ALARA principles
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare workers
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of office equipment
