At Henry Ford Health System, we are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team of clinical professionals. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will provide clinical services to individuals with adult and pediatric speech, language, cognitive, voice, and swallowing disorders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide consultation with patients, family, and healthcare staff about communication and swallowing disorders
  • Diagnose speech, language, or swallowing disorders and evaluate patient condition and prognosis
  • Develop treatment/therapy programs for patients
  • Schedule and conduct patient follow-up visits
  • Operate clinical equipment to measure speech production characteristics during patient evaluations and treatment
  • Perform endoscopic assessment of vocal fold vibratory function and swallowing function
  • Interact with dietary personnel in developing nutritional menus and/or eating programs for patients with limited swallowing abilities
  • Prescribe appropriate communication technology after cancer or laryngeal surgery
  • Teach patients to utilize technology and effectively develop their communication skills
  • Participate in all phases of departmental education and research programs, including program development and clinical fellow orientation and instruction
  • Supervise the activities of departmental graduate students and clinical fellows, including work scheduling, motivation, performance appraisal, and day-to-day work duties
  • Represent the institution at community, regional, and national conferences
  • Educate local community and social organizations on programs available at Henry Ford Health System

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited graduate program
  • Successful completion of the National Praxis Examination
  • Successful completion of the Clinical Fellowship Year
  • One year of experience in a clinical setting required
  • The State of Michigan license; Certificate of Clinical Competence by ASHA
