Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team at Builders FirstSource. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for safely operating a boom crane to transport and load construction materials at customer sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a boom crane to transport and load construction materials at customer sites
  • Drive a delivery vehicle to transport materials to and from locations
  • Load and unload materials that require the operation of a crane/boom
  • Calculate boom/crane capacities and weights to ensure safe operation
  • Inspect and maintain crane/boom equipment to ensure safety and prevent damage
  • Plan and pace work to meet daily, weekly, and project productivity goals
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2+ years of driving experience and 1+ year of experience operating a boom crane
  • Valid CDL license and Boom or Crane Operator certification required
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to read and understand maps, routes, and road signs
Work Environment

This role requires working in a production environment with varying temperatures, hazardous chemicals, and mechanical parts. You must be able to lift and carry up to 100 pounds frequently and on occasion may be required to lift and carry, with assistance, up to 200 pounds.
