Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Access Coordinator to join our team at Northern Light Acadia Hospital. As a key member of our access team, you will play a critical role in ensuring seamless patient flow and timely access to mental health services.

**Responsibilities:**

  • Gather and summarize client information for referrals to admission and outpatient services

  • Present case information to clinical, psychiatric, and nursing staff

  • Schedule evaluations and admissions

  • Field crisis calls and provide emergency interventions as needed

  • Provide information to the public about Acadia programs and community resources

  • Maintain accurate accounting of patient census in Acadia programs

  • Coordinate bed management functions

  • Document data for all processes and programs

  • Distribute reports related to findings

  • Provide after-hours backup to multiple departments

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a mental health-related field

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Proficiency in computer software applications, including Microsoft Office and electronic medical records systems
