Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sonographer to join our team at Virginia Commonwealth University Health Systems. As a Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures using high-frequency sound waves to produce images of the body's internal structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform high-quality ultrasound exams and procedures in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.
  • Prepare patients for exams, explain procedures, and ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the process.
  • Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring proper function and optimal image quality.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective patient care.
  • Document patient information, exam results, and any relevant findings in a timely and accurate manner.
Requirements
  • ARRT certification as a Sonographer (ARRT(S)) or RDMS certification in medical sonography.
  • 1+ year of experience in sonography or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Knowledge of ultrasound principles, instrumentation, and image processing software.
