Job Description:

The Respiratory Therapist provides comprehensive respiratory patient care to Vent patients, ensuring optimal outcomes. This role involves delivering preventative, rehabilitative, and palliative care in accordance with AdaptHealth's policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide education and care to patients, communicating effectively with the team, physicians, and referral sources.
  • Utilize acquired knowledge to increase competencies, demonstrating ability to complete all documentation and charting procedures in compliance with company policy.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient files, reviewing Plan of Treatments and Care Plans to ensure accuracy.
  • Document procedures, including patient tolerance, side effects, and other pertinent information.
  • Assist with authorization for Ventilator referrals and show adequate knowledge of respiratory equipment.
  • Participate in discharge planning, performing clinical assessments as needed, and reporting results to referral and physician teams.
  • Perform in-services to hospital staff, referrals, and other professionals regarding equipment and clinical issues.
  • Follow up with physicians and referrals regarding patient status, documenting accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Retain knowledge of procedures for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), infection control, and hazardous materials handling.
Requirements:
  • Associates degree from an AMA-approved respiratory program
  • Valid and unrestricted RT clinical license in all states serviced by the branch
  • CPR certification
  • One year of clinical experience as a Health Care RT, HME RT, or clinical nursing with Vent experience
  • Valid and unrestricted driver's license

Salary:$60,000-$80,000 per annum
