Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Police Dispatcher to join our team at Johns Hopkins University. As a Police Dispatcher, you will be responsible for receiving and processing emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatching appropriate response units, and providing critical support to our public safety team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive and process emergency and non-emergency calls, including dispatching response units and providing critical support to our public safety team.
  • Coordinate responses among Johns Hopkins Police and Public Safety, Facilities Management, Student Affairs, and Hopkins Emergency Rescue Unit personnel.
  • Provide general assistance and information to Johns Hopkins students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
  • Maintain familiarity with the general geography of the communities served.
  • Participate in available professional development for center staff.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years of call center/customer service or other related work experience.
  • Ability to pass an extensive Maryland State Police/F.B.I. background investigation and complete a physical/health screening examination.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years related experience in public safety communication, including familiarity with communication technology and call-taking techniques.
  • Associate's degree or higher.
  • Bilingual.
