Culinary Specialist Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team at the Good Samaritan Society in Canistota, SD. This is a full-time position that requires exceptional culinary skills and attention to detail.

Job Summary: Prepare and serve high-quality meals for patients, staff, and visitors, adhering to dietary guidelines and food safety standards. Maintain sanitation in cooking areas and ensure the safety and quality of food provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook food according to standardized recipes and HACCP guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
  • Monitor food inventory and supplies, ordering as needed.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth food service operations.
  • Assist with menu planning and preparation, ensuring variety and nutritional balance.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of six months of applicable experience in food preparation and cooking.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions.
  • Basic math skills required.
  • ServSafe certification may be required depending on location.

Salary and Benefits: We offer a competitive salary range of $16.50 - $23.50 per hour, depending on experience. Additionally, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life insurance, and a 401(k) retirement plan.
