We are seeking a skilled Healthcare Service Coordinator Specialist to join our team at Optum. As a Patient Care Coordinator, you will be the first point of contact for our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Communicate directly with patients and their families to complete the registration process, collecting patient demographics, health information, and verifying insurance eligibility.
  2. Respond to patient inquiries in a compassionate and respectful manner, addressing routine and sensitive topics.
  3. Organize and schedule patient services and appointments, ensuring proper information is forwarded to practitioners.
  4. Utilize computer systems to enter, access, or verify patient data in real-time, maintaining accuracy and completeness.
  5. Analyze patient data reports and follow up on issues and inconsistencies as necessary.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • At least one year of Microsoft Office experience.
  • One year of experience in an office setting, customer service, phone support role, or call center environment.
  • Prior experience with registration in a hospital or medical setting, prior authorization, and insurance knowledge is preferred.
