About the Job

This exciting opportunity calls for an experienced and talented leader to own Western Digital's Information Security Architecture function. As a key partner to some of the largest and highest growth organizations in the world, you will be responsible for creating technical and process solutions to securely enable business needs.

The foundation of an effective Information Security program is at the heart of our InfoSec Architecture organization. The world is moving quickly, and business leaders want to take advantage of emerging technologies and services. None of it can happen without InfoSec. This role requires a broad and deep understanding of all relevant technologies, including networking, systems, devices, storage, cloud services, applications, AI/Generative AI, and their sub-components.

A successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills to establish and foster positive relationships with stakeholders. Along with consultative architectural responsibilities, this team owns network firewall architecture and engineering, including VPN services. Defining a strategy to expand and evolve these technologies and services awaits the person who takes on this critically important role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Immersive leadership for an end-to-end Security Architecture management practice.
  • Build and strengthen security-related business partnerships across the enterprise.
  • Own and evolve all network firewall and VPN architecture, engineering, and services.
  • Champion process improvements to include increased use of automation to replace inefficient manual efforts.
  • Integrate into the risk management program providing guidance and solutions as needed.
  • Remove roadblocks for your team and achieve proper commitment from stakeholders.
  • Present Information Security Architecture program strategies, updates, and plans for improvements to executive leadership.
  • Proactively mentor and manage your team to continually grow their skills and careers.
  • Be an outstanding leader, communicator, and role model.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Extensive, immersive, and proven leadership experience in Information Security Architecture, including related technologies and processes.
  • A positive track record of earning and maintaining the trust of clients, team members, peers, partners, and executives.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a high-performing team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for various levels of audiences.
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to translate complex security requirements into practical solutions.
  • Attention to detail while not losing sight of the bigger picture.
  • The ability to operate under pressure in a complex business and technology environment.

Compensation & Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from $200,000 to $300,000, based on experience, with opportunities for bonuses and long-term incentives. Our comprehensive benefits package includes paid vacation time, medical/dental/vision insurance, life, accident, and disability insurance, tax-advantaged flexible spending and health savings accounts, employee assistance program, other voluntary benefit programs, tuition reimbursement, transit, and the Western Digital Savings 401(k) Plan.
