Job Summary

The Overhead Distribution Foreman is a critical role at MasTec Utility Services, responsible for leading a crew to complete daily tasks related to the placement of overhead electrical cables. This position requires strong leadership and technical skills, with a focus on ensuring crew safety and quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain necessary materials and ensure all permits and licenses are in place.
  • Oversee work related to each project, assuming full responsibility for its quality and timeliness.
  • Comply with proper safety standards, procedures, and work practices.
  • Facilitate daily toolbox talks and weekly safety inspections.
  • Perform aerial tasks, such as new cable installs, pole transfers, and cable hanging.
  • Place overhead electrical cables and connect wires and cables to terminals.
  • Coordinate and supervise daily tasks for crew members related to digging and placing product.
  • Perform construction work, such as digging holes and placing cable in various types of conduit systems.
  • Climb utility poles and/or use aerial lift trucks to place cables on poles.
  • Drive, haul, and/or operate equipment to/from job sites to assist crews in completion of work.
  • Train new hires and trainees to learn the trade.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 6 years of Overhead Distribution experience.
  • 2 years of Overhead Distribution Foreman experience.
  • Current and valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
Preferred Qualifications
  • 8 or more years of experience, including extensive experience supervising and training skilled labor.
  • OSHA 20 Certification.
Work Environment

This job operates in a field environment, requiring extended periods of physical activity, including bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, and working in inclement weather conditions.
