Job Summary

The Substance Abuse Specialist at Southeastern Integrated Care LLC is a vital role in providing care and promoting harm reduction and abstinence to work toward recovery.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of substance abuse, considering the relationship between substance use and mental health.
  • Assess and track beneficiary's stages of change readiness and stages of treatment.
  • Use outreach and motivational interviewing techniques to work with beneficiaries in earlier stages of change readiness.
  • Facilitate access to 12-step groups and other community supports.
  • Use cognitive behavioral approaches and relapse prevention to work with beneficiaries in later stages of change readiness.
  • Ensure consistency in treatment approaches among fellow service providers.
  • Participate in Person-Centered Planning for assigned beneficiaries.
  • Lead group sessions and coordinate placement in short/long-term treatment as needed.
  • Participate in a first responder on-call system available 24/7; coordinate resources according to consumer needs.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of the population served.
  • Current certification as CCS, CSI, LCAS, LCAS-A, or CADC required.
Work Environment

The work environment may involve exposure to cigarette smoke, domestic animals/pets, household pests, and other issues related to the domestic location where services are delivered.

Physical Demands

The physical demands include standing, walking, reaching, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
