Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Waste Site Attendant to join our team at GFL Environmental. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the safe disposal of waste and recyclable materials while providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Arrive on time to assigned sites and maintain the Convenience Site according to posted schedules.
  • Greet patrons upon arrival and direct them in the safe and proper disposal of waste and recyclable materials into designated containers.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of site facilities and grounds by picking up litter, spillage, and other debris.
  • Assist drivers in covering, picking up, and arranging waste containers, as well as cleaning up spillage and litter.
  • Monitor waste levels in each container to ensure sufficient space for additional disposal.
  • Daily maintenance and operation of compactors.
  • Provide assistance when needed to those in need, including disposing of their waste.
  • Offer excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Able to work weekend hours.
  • Comply with federal, state/provincial, and local laws, regulations, ordinances, and company policies.
Requirements:
  • Ability to operate vehicles or equipment necessary for job performance.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic mathematical calculations and application skills.
  • Reading comprehension and ability to understand simple correspondence and instructions.
  • Common sense reasoning and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work under limited supervision.
  • Physical demands: standing, walking, using hands and fingers, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, hearing, and climbing.
  • Regularly lift/move up to 10 pounds; occasionally move up to 20 pounds.
Working Conditions:
  • Frequently exposed to loud noise, humidity, extreme temperatures, and moving mechanical parts.
  • Work environment is usually loud.
  • Outdoor work environment 90% of the time.
Compensation and Benefits:

Estimated salary range: $25-$35 per hour. Benefits include competitive pay, opportunities for career growth, and a supportive work environment.
