Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Music Teacher to join our team at Albuquerque Public Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching music to students in grades 6-12, including band, choir, orchestra, guitar, piano, and mariachi.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive music program that meets the needs of all students.
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that promote student learning and growth.
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback to students and parents.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement district-wide music programs.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Music Education or a related field.
  • New Mexico teaching certificate endorsed in Music Education.
  • Ability to work with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching music in a public school setting.
  • Knowledge of music curriculum and instructional methods.
  • Ability to use technology to enhance music instruction.
