Psychiatry Residency Program Leadership Opportunity

We are seeking a seasoned clinician-educator to serve as the General Psychiatry Residency Program Director at the University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry.
About the RoleThis full-time position is available for an Associate or Full Professor who will report directly to the Chair and Associate Chair for Education, as well as to our institutional Office of GME and the ACGME.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain Program ACGME Accreditation by ensuring adherence to all program requirements, conducting annual evaluations, and engaging in self-study processes.
- Direct recruitment and selection process for trainees while maintaining training program compliance with RRC and UR policies.
- Develop and implement a resident evaluation program, including competency-based evaluations, Clinical Competency Committee maintenance, and reporting on milestone progress.
- Strengthen faculty through interviewing, reviewing performance, and ensuring engagement in faculty development.
- Administer the program within the Department of Psychiatry and University of Rochester, adhering to Graduate Medical Education Committee (GMEC) and ACGME institutional requirements.
- Conduct ongoing program evaluation and improvement through maintenance of a program evaluation committee and reporting required information.
- Board certification in general psychiatry
- Eligibility for an unrestricted NYS medical license
- At least three years of experience in psychiatry education program leadership, administration, and teaching in an ACGME-accredited training program
- Demonstrated academic excellence and trajectory, including innovative educational program development, excellence in teaching, clinical leadership, or research
- Strong communication skills and leadership capability
- A track record of excellence in educational and academic endeavors
- Evidence of ability to contribute to the department's commitment to diversity, equity, inclusivity, and excellence, with a focus on mentoring learners from historically marginalized backgrounds
The salary for this position is $250,000 per year, with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off. We also offer a generous relocation allowance and assistance with finding housing in the area.
