Job Overview

As a Senior Bookseller, you will leverage your extensive knowledge and enthusiasm for literature to create a dynamic and curated bookstore experience that aligns with our standards. You will play a pivotal role in mentoring new booksellers, guiding them in understanding our exceptional service standards and the world of books. Your engaging personality and genuine desire to assist customers will ensure they enjoy their shopping experience and return to us for their literary needs.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Engage customers through meaningful conversations, utilizing your book expertise to connect them with suitable products.
  2. Maintain a vibrant bookstore by executing bookstore fundamentals with precision, demonstrating a commitment to presentation, commercial appeal, and attention to detail.
  3. Identify significant titles to customize and localize product assortments for our clientele.
  4. Utilize key promotional campaigns to enhance customer interactions and drive sales.
  5. Ensure the store remains organized and inviting, making it a pleasant shopping environment.
  6. Create eye-catching displays that resonate with our customer base.
  7. Provide mentorship to new team members, aiding their transition into the bookselling environment.
  8. Exemplify expected behaviors to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
  9. Safeguard company assets by following inventory and loss prevention protocols, completing necessary inventories and initiatives.
  10. Engage actively on the sales floor, which includes physical tasks such as standing, bending, lifting, and climbing, as well as assisting in the Cafe when required.
  11. Open and close the store, ensuring the safety of employees and customers as a keyholder.
