Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse RN to join our Cardiovascular CVOR Operating Room team at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center. As a CVOR nurse, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care for surgical patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare the operating room with precision, ensuring all necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies are sterile and readily accessible.
  • Assist the cardiac surgeon during procedures, handling instruments, passing sutures, and managing surgical equipment while maintaining a sterile field and responding promptly to emergent situations.
  • Educate patients and their families about post-operative care, medications, and potential complications.
Requirements:
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing BSN degree preferred.
  • Hold a valid and current Connecticut registered nurse licensure.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Cardiovascular Operating Room CVOR nursing required, with preference given to candidates with experience in Cardiac Perioperative and Surgical Service lines or General/Main Operating Room settings.
  • Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS or CPR certification.
  • Proficiency in practicing according to the recommended standards and guidelines of the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses AORN.
Benefits:

Full-Time: 40 hours/week - Day Shift. Rotating weekends and holidays, on-call rotation is required for all shifts. Experience Nurses with one (1) or more years of expertise receive additional hourly specialty pay, enhancing the base pay compensation.
