Job Summary

The Town of Merrimack, NH is seeking a qualified individual to serve as a School Crossing Guard. This part-time position is responsible for directing traffic at assigned crossing posts to protect children and ensure the orderly movement of traffic.

Key Responsibilities

Direct traffic at assigned crossing posts to ensure the safety of children and pedestrians
Report directly to assigned posts on time and remain until the conclusion of the assignment
Be alert for potential traffic hazards and report them to the patrol duty supervisor immediately
Wear only the uniform and equipment issued or authorized by the Merrimack Police Department

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Satisfactory work experience in providing public safety with public contact
Ability to remain calm under stressful situations and react quickly to hazardous situations

Working Conditions

This position is not eligible for benefits. The successful candidate will be required to wear safety equipment at all times while performing the crossing guard function.
