Automation Director of Workload Orchestration

Job Description: Automation Engineering Applications DirectorThe Automation Engineering Applications Director will be an individual contributor who designs solutions for workload orchestration, commonly referred to as batch practices. The successful candidate will work with architecture and other batch engineers to keep batch platforms resilient while adding valuable new features.
This role involves COTS workload automation development, administration, and production stability. The Automation Engineering Applications Director will help internal users utilize workload automation and provide engineering solutions to teams. The ideal candidate should analyze, recommend, and advocate solutions to optimize workload automation or batch practices.
A key responsibility of this role is to help eliminate batch processing from mainframe, on-prem, and cloud environments. The Automation Engineering Applications Director must have experience with cloud concepts and technologies, including AWS and Azure. They should also have knowledge of off-the-shelf workload automation or batch platforms, such as Control-M and Autosys.
In addition, the Automation Engineering Applications Director should have expertise with open-source data orchestration tools, Airflow and Prefect preferred. They must also have experience with batch processing alternatives, such as data-sharing, event-driven architecture, and streaming. Data engineering understanding and skills, including SQL, are essential for this role, with Oracle preferred.
This position requires a highly experienced professional with 10+ years of application development, architecture, or system engineering experience. Strong communication skills and the ability to document solutions well are crucial for success in this role.

Fidelity offers a competitive salary of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience.
