Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Animal Husbandry Specialist to join our team at Biomedical Research Models.

Salary

$45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience.

Job Responsibilities

As an Animal Husbandry Specialist, you will be responsible for performing animal care procedures, including acclimation, handling, and restraint. You will also provide feed, water, and enrichment, clean and sanitize cages, and assist with the set-up and receipt of animal shipments and supplies.

  • Perform daily husbandry procedures, including cleaning and sanitizing cages, providing feed and water, and monitoring animal health.
  • Assist with the set-up and receipt of animal shipments and supplies, ensuring compliance with SOPs and study protocols.
  • Operate and maintain equipment, such as autoclaves, cage washers, and rack washers, according to SOPs.
  • Maintain accurate records of animal identification, cage side observations, and equipment operation and maintenance.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working with animals in a laboratory or research setting.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
