Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph, Michigan, is a beacon of medical excellence in the region, offering an integrated system of care that is accessible, affordable, compassionate, and responsible. Our state-of-the-art facility, with more than 250 beds, includes a recently expanded Medical Pavilion, providing an array of inpatient and ambulatory services.
The Critical Care Team at Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital provides 24/7 inpatient coverage at our hospital in St. Joseph and Niles. We have a block-style schedule with providers rotating seven consecutive days on followed by seven days off. Shifts are from 7:00am to 7:00pm, and 8:00pm – 8:00am. We use Epic electronic health records for documentation.
As an Advanced Practitioner on our team, you will have opportunities to rotate between shifts and sites. You will function autonomously and independently with on-site support provided during daily rounds with an intensivist physician. Backup is available via phone or telemedicine.

We are seeking a full-time Advanced Practitioner to join our expanding Critical Care team in Southwest Michigan. The ideal candidate will be patient-centered and team-oriented, with experience in ICU or emergency medicine backgrounds preferred.
The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $160,000 per year, depending on experience. Benefits include a comprehensive compensation package, including health insurance, retirement plan, paid time off, and professional development opportunities.
Our team includes 10 physicians and anticipated 4 advanced practitioners. Procedures performed by our team include central line insertion, arterial line placement, thoracentesis, paracentesis, and intubation. We also collaborate with a variety of sub-specialists for referrals and patient care.
To qualify for this position, you must have a Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant educational program and be certified (PA-C) by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Additionally, you must be licensed (L.I.C.) in the State of Michigan. Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required within 90-120 days of hire.
