Job Description:

The Service Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring safe productivity, inspecting job sites, hiring, developing, and leading service crews to deliver timely and cost-effective services to customers.

This position requires strong leadership and communication skills to manage team effectiveness between service and other divisions, as well as drive local sales volume growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Safety: Ensure all service personnel receive training on Simon Safety Policies and Procedures, adhering to daily safety protocols and maintaining available safety equipment.
  • Supervision: Provide necessary supervision to direct reports to meet service and quality expectations.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Focus on delivering our value proposition and meeting or exceeding customer expectations through response times, work order completion, and training.
  • Work Order Completion: Ensure timely completion of service requests with the highest quality and professionalism, submitting required documentation for each work order.
  • Service Response Times: Schedule crews daily to meet dictated response times based on customer service requests.
  • Training: Identify training needs of the workforce and assist in obtaining necessary training.
  • Sales Support: Work closely with sales to increase service sales in the branch.
  • Self-Development: Continuously improve through reading and managerial training with guidance from the Regional Manager.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Three + years of experience in commercial roofing or related construction experience.
  • BASIC knowledge of computers including Office and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to calculate figures and apply basic concepts of algebra and geometry.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record to drive a company vehicle.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to travel when local work is not available.
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays in emergency situations.

Working Conditions:

  • Lifting up to 50 pounds regularly throughout the day.
  • Frequently ascending/descending ladders up to 40 feet.
  • Remaining in a stationary position for extended periods.
  • Working in outdoor weather conditions.
  • Loading/unloading material and equipment from varied heights.
  • Loading material and equipment from vehicles on and off the roof.
  • Lifting heavy objects by hand or with assistance and cleaning the work area.
  • Shoveling loose materials such as gravel, sand, metal, snow, or dirt.
