Director of the CSU Spur Climate Hub

Job Summary: Colorado State University is seeking a highly qualified Director to lead the new system-wide Climate Hub at the CSU's Denver-based Spur Campus.

About the Role: As the Director of the Climate Hub, you will be responsible for working with internal organizers to refine the initial offerings and secure buy-in for a holistic vision for the hub. You will lead the development and execution of a five-year plan to support the diverse needs of a wide range of public, private, and philanthropic partners in need of tailored climate information and programming.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive five-year plan to support the Climate Hub's mission and goals.
  • Collaborate with internal organizers to refine the initial offerings and secure buy-in for a holistic vision for the hub.
  • Lead the development of strategic partnerships with public, private, and philanthropic organizations to support the Climate Hub's mission.
  • Manage a team of support staff and technical personnel to ensure the successful operation of the Climate Hub.
  • Develop and manage budgets to support the Climate Hub's operations and programs.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest climate change research and best practices to inform the Climate Hub's work.

Requirements:

  • PhD and at least 2 years of relevant work experience; or, Master's degree, MBA, or equivalent and at least 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • At least 5 years of public and/or private sector experience related to climate change.
  • 2 years of team management experience.
  • Proven experience in fundraising and donor relationships.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong cross-functional and cross-disciplinary collaboration skills.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple programs and workstreams.
  • Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and communicate progress toward strategic goals.
  • Established network of relevant public and private contacts within Colorado and beyond.
  • Familiarity with climate-related faculty and subject matter experts at CSU across multiple disciplines.
  • Successful track record of business development.
