About the Role

We're seeking an exceptional Veterinarian Medical Specialist to join our Vetco Total Care veterinary full-service hospital team. As a key member of our medical team, you'll provide high-quality patient care, collaborate with our supportive medical field leaders and paraprofessional team, and contribute to the growth of our productive practice.

Job Description

This role will impact the organization by contributing to the growth of a productive practice while focusing on a high-quality standard of care. You'll be responsible for providing excellent patient care, utilizing a problem-based approach to diagnose and treat diseases, and developing treatment plans for patients undergoing day hospitalization.

Key Responsibilities

  • ">
  • Provide physical examinations, diagnoses, and treatments according to patient signalment, lifestyle, and environment.">
  • Utilize a problem-based approach to develop a complete problem list, differential diagnoses, diagnostic plans, and treatments based on test results.">
  • Document all patient observations, findings, treatments, and diagnoses in the medical record.">
  • Perform routine and complex surgical procedures, including spays/neuters, abdominal exploratory, and mass removals.">
  • Develop treatment plans for patients undergoing day hospitalization and communicate effectively with referral hospitals.">
  • Participate in rounds, disseminate knowledge throughout staff, and perform additional duties as assigned.">

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • ">
  • A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school.">
  • Active licensure as a veterinarian without contingencies in the state where the hospital is located or ability to obtain by start date.">
  • A current DEA license and USDA Category I (minimum) Accreditation or completion within two months of hire date.">
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, compassion, and a professional attitude and demeanor during emotional situations.">
  • A team player willing to learn new techniques and treatments, offer creative ideas, and accept change.">

Work Environment

">

The majority of job duties are conducted in the Vetco Total Care veterinary full-service hospital, requiring bending, kneeling, lifting, and standing for long periods. You'll spend a significant amount of time interacting with clients and their pets.

Salary Range

">

$85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
