Critical Care Nurse Specialist

At Middlesex Health, we are seeking an exceptional Critical Care Nurse Specialist to join our team. This is a unique opportunity for experienced nurses to take on new challenges and make a meaningful impact in our ICU/IMCU unit.
About the RoleThis critical care position requires advanced skills and knowledge of caring for complex patients. As a Critical Care Nurse Specialist, you will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care, collaborate on patient assessments, and develop individualized plans to meet each patient's needs.
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience working in ICU or IMCU settings, with a strong background in critical care nursing practices. They will also possess excellent communication and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients, including those with cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, and other complex conditions.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to assess patient needs, develop care plans, and implement evidence-based interventions.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care, including vital signs, lab results, and medication administration.
- Participate in patient education and family support, providing clear and concise information about treatment options, medications, and self-care techniques.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions and coordination.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in ICU or IMCU settings.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Able to read and interpret monitoring strips.
- Familiarity with the use of Avea vents and experience with patient care requiring bipap.
