Emergency Department Nurse Leader

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at UVA Health Northern VA & Culpeper. As a nurse in our emergency department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to a positive and supportive work environment.
Job DescriptionThe Registered Nurse serves as a leader of the healthcare team by establishing personalized relationships with patients and their support systems, collaborating with physicians and other team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care that promote optimal health. This position requires a strong understanding of medical concepts and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
Patient Care Responsibilities- Acts as patient advocate when implementing interdisciplinary plans of care.
- Collaborates with healthcare teams to educate patients and their support systems.
- Analyzes, modifies, and implements strategies to progress patients through their plans of care.
- Ensures completion of nursing interventions, medical orders, and related therapies.
- Prioritizes job duties according to patient needs and changing acuity levels.
- Consistently uses appropriate communication tools within the interdisciplinary team and when handing off patient care.
- Communicates individualized plans of care to patients and their support systems.
- Documents relevant information in a timely manner.
- Develops and maintains positive relationships with team members/internal customers to provide efficient treatment of patients.
- Resolves conflicts independently, as needed.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required; 4-year/Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- 1 year of relevant experience preferred.
- Current RN licensure in applicable state required; CPI certification within three months of hire required for Behavioral Health, Emergency Department, and Central Staffing and Scheduling Office (CSSO).
- Ability to perform basic nursing skills on groups of patients and assume charge responsibility.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize quickly.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Ability to safely and effectively care for all patient populations presenting to the department.
This position offers a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $115,000 per year, based on experience, plus benefits such as comprehensive health insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
