About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Support Specialist to join our team. As a critical member of our plasma center operations, you will be responsible for determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of unsuitable test results.

You will work under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager as applicable) for operational guidance and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues. The Medical Support Specialist follows guidance provided by BioLife Medical Affairs and provides center-level support of environmental, health, and safety (EHS).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Determine donor eligibility, including proper management of informed consent, AIDS education, and confidential self-exclusion.
  • Evaluate donor reactions that occur at the facility, following applicable SOPs.
  • Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when in need of providing unacceptable findings to donors or guidance concerning medical or technical issues.
  • Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.

This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, including a graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements. You must be currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-Paramedic.

Salary Information:

The estimated hourly wage range for this position is $21.15 - $29.09. This range reflects an anticipated range for this position and may vary based on qualifications, experience, and location.
