Job Summary:
Mammography Technologist at McLaren Health Care
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform digital mammograms of the breast at a technical level that will produce high quality mammographic images consistent with established policies and procedures.
- Specialize in the production of screening and diagnostic mammograms for the detection of breast tumors.
- Obtain patient history, explain standard procedures, and address patient concerns to foster a sense of comfort and confidence to patients.
- Operate and maintain all assigned mammography equipment to ensure it works properly.
- Position patients and move mammographic equipment to specific positions and adjust controls to set exposure factors based on knowledge of radiographic exposure techniques and protocols.
- Complete quality assurance processes and practices radiation safety in order to reduce exposure to patients, staff, and self.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an AMA-approved school of radiology technology.
- Certified in general radiologic technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT).
- Certified in mammography by American Registry of Radiologic Technologist.
- Current BLS certification.
