Financial Analysis Consultant, Technology Expert

As a Financial Analysis Consultant, you'll be part of our Technology and Operations Finance team, working closely with our Financial Planning and Analysis organization to drive strategic decision-making.

This role requires a detail-oriented, analytical, and driven financial analyst who can lead functional leadership, individual contribution, and partnership to complete financial forecasting and analysis. You'll be accountable for a functional area(s) within the Technology and Operations Finance organization and may be responsible for segment reporting and analysis for one or more business segments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring accurate, timely, and relevant financial and management reporting (standard and ad hoc)
  • Driving financial transparency through analysis and reporting, financial models, and tracking KPIs
  • Leading commentary for financial exhibits, including managed and allocated expenses
  • Providing financial stewardship and developing financial outlooks in partnership with Technology, Operations, and/or Real Estate leaders
  • Performing analysis of IT Service Costing (IT Finance sub-ledger system) data to support and provide business partners with transparency and insightful analysis
  • Assisting in maintaining data integrity, including capitalization support
  • Driving continuous improvement in accounting, reporting, and forecasting activities
  • Ensuring reserves and cost allocations are appropriate and supported
  • Developing strong working relationships across the Technology, Operations, and Finance functions
  • Participating in or leading special projects, as applicable

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of finance experience
  • Strong accounting, financial analysis, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong Excel skills, TM1 skills a plus
  • Experience performing financial modeling
  • Self-starter, self-motivated, and performance-driven; ability to lead through influencing
  • Ability to quickly learn and assimilate new applications
  • Results-oriented with the ability to effectively manage competing priorities
  • Strong critical thinking ability and quantitative analytic skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and to demonstrate professionalism while interacting with personnel at various levels throughout the enterprise

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency, and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition.
