Job Summary:

The Public Health Nurse will work closely with our healthcare team to provide comprehensive nursing services, assess the holistic needs of individuals, and develop and implement care plans to promote health and wellness.

Responsibilities:
  • Provides comprehensive nursing services, including assessments, health education, and case management.
  • Develops and implements care plans to promote health and wellness, and evaluates outcomes to make changes as necessary.
  • Provides patients and families with supportive resources, educates patients in areas impacting health and wellness, and develops and provides specialized health training and education to staff.
  • Completes and submits documentation regarding patient care and condition, reviews quality and effectiveness of services provided, and makes changes as necessary.
Requirements:
  • High school or equivalent and a Vocational, Associates, or Bachelors degree in Nursing or other Nursing program that meets the requirements for the Registered Nurse license are required.
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Kansas is required.
  • A valid KS/MO driver's license with acceptable driving record is also required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • One year of nursing experience is preferred.
  • Spanish speaking and Womens Health experience are also preferred.
Working Conditions:

The Public Health Nurse will work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to hazardous materials and bodily fluids. The position requires standing and walking for extended periods, with occasional lifting and bending.
