Cybersecurity Architect - System Defender

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Architect to join our team at Unreal Gigs. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing secure systems and architectures that protect our digital assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Security Architecture Design: Develop comprehensive security architectures for cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments, ensuring all systems are designed with security in mind.
  • Risk Assessment and Threat Modeling: Conduct risk assessments and threat modeling to identify potential security risks in new and existing architectures, collaborating with engineering and development teams to mitigate risks.
  • Security Frameworks and Standards: Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and guidelines based on industry standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS, ensuring security controls are integrated into the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and compliance requirements are met.
  • Cloud and Network Security: Design and implement secure cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP) and secure network infrastructures, overseeing cloud security best practices, including identity, access management, and encryption.
  • Collaboration and Consultation: Work closely with IT, development, and product teams to ensure security is embedded in every aspect of the technology stack, providing guidance on security best practices for application development, system configurations, and IT operations.
  • Incident Response Support: Assist in developing and refining incident response plans, ensuring the architecture is designed for quick threat detection, containment, and recovery, working with the security team to improve defensive strategies and minimize damage from security incidents.
  • Continuous Improvement and Innovation: Stay on top of emerging security trends, vulnerabilities, and technologies, driving continuous improvement of the security architecture, ensuring defenses evolve to meet the latest challenges in cybersecurity.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Security Expertise: Extensive experience in designing secure systems and architectures, with deep knowledge of security principles, frameworks, and best practices, proficiency in areas such as identity management, encryption, cloud security, and network security.
  • Architectural Vision: Ability to create security architectures that align with business needs while maintaining the highest security standards, designing solutions that are both secure and scalable.
  • Cloud Security Mastery: Proven experience designing and securing cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), including expertise in cloud-native security tools, identity and access management (IAM), and encryption.
  • Risk Management and Threat Modeling: Strong experience in conducting risk assessments, threat modeling, and vulnerability management, identifying potential risks and designing security measures to mitigate them effectively.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Exceptional ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate complex security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders, skilled at explaining security requirements in a way that everyone understands.
  • Incident Response Knowledge: Experience supporting incident response efforts, including creating architectures designed to detect and mitigate security incidents quickly.
