Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Makonde/Kimakonde translator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have excellent language skills, a strong background in translation and interpretation, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

About the Role:

As a Multilingual Translator Specialist, you will be responsible for translating reports, texts, and other materials from English to Makonde/Kimakonde and vice versa. You will also provide interpretation services as needed, ensuring accuracy and cultural sensitivity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Translate complex documents, including reports, articles, and websites, with high accuracy and attention to detail
• Provide interpretation services during meetings, conferences, and other events
• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Makonde/Kimakonde culture, history, and customs
• Work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with linguists, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders
• Meet deadlines and ensure timely delivery of translations and interpretation services

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A bachelor's degree in linguistics, languages, or a related field
• 4-8 years of experience in translation and/or interpretation, preferably in a professional setting
• Excellent language skills in Makonde/Kimakonde and English, both written and spoken
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines and adapting to changing priorities
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy

Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary range of $68,900 - $124,550 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.

Location:

This position is based in [location], with occasional travel required. Candidates must be able to support the contract 24/7 when on travel.
