Aerospace Maintenance Engineer Specialist

**Job Overview**
We are seeking a skilled Aerospace Maintenance Engineer Specialist to join our team at Leonardo Helicopters in Philadelphia. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for supporting aircraft/helicopter development through certification and into service.
About the Role
The successful candidate will have a strong background in reliability/safety/maintainability and experience with maintenance program development using the MSG-3 methodology. You will work closely with systems, safety, and design engineers and flight test to develop detailed maintenance procedures and ensure maintenance-related assumptions are valid.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop maintenance program tasks and intervals using the MSG-3 methodology
- Prepare/coordinate Maintenance Steering Group (MSG-3) analysis with company, customer, and FAA participants
- Conduct engineering analysis to support maintenance program deliverables and determine appropriate maintenance tasks and intervals
- Schedule and lead Maintenance Steering Group (MSG-3) reviews with company, customer, and FAA participants
- Work very closely with systems, safety, and design engineers and flight test to develop detailed maintenance procedures and ensure maintenance-related assumptions are valid
- Generate and manage complex sets of maintenance-related requirements through the entire development life cycle
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related technical discipline; Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Systems Engineering preferred
- At least 5 years of aviation or defense industry experience, preferably in reliability/safety/maintainability role
- Prior experience as an aircraft mechanic would be an asset
- Expert level understanding of the maintenance steering group approach to maintenance program development (MSG-3)
- Able to create, read, and review technical schematics and engineering drawings and specifications
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, coordination, and technical writing skills
