Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nurse to join our team as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Psychiatric Technician (PT). As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide licensed nursing support services to patients and clients in outpatient programs.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Administer medications to patients, chart appropriate records, review medicine orders regularly, obtain physician approval, and coordinate with pharmacy as needed.
  2. Order supplies, check delivery, stock, and maintain inventory.
  3. Assist with medical treatments and procedures, assume responsibility for general patient care, transport patients to doctors' appointments and laboratories for tests.
  4. Conduct individual counseling, crisis intervention, and pre-care coverage.
  5. Conduct work-oriented daily living skills sessions and resocialization activity groups.
  6. Consult with physicians regarding patients and medication adjustments.
  7. Participate in carrying out individual and group treatment programs for patients as part of the treatment team.
  8. Visit patients in their homes, board and care facilities, or other community placement locations to carry out prescribed treatment plans.
  9. Motivate patients to develop self-reliance in daily living.
  10. Observe patient's physical condition and behavior, report significant changes to professional staff, record clinical notes on patients.
  11. Monitor and observe clients self-administer medications, administer injections.
  12. Prepare and maintain various records, prepare reports.
  13. Participate in in-service training programs, assist in training and instructing others.
  14. Drive on Agency business, participate in treatment programs for patients.
  15. Analyze situations accurately, take effective action.
Requirements
  1. Possession of a valid license as a LVN or PT as issued by the State of California.
  2. Knowledge of basic concepts of mental illness and mental health, including the physical, emotional, and social needs of emotionally disturbed individuals.
  3. Knowledge of fundamentals of psychiatric and mental health nursing care.
  4. Knowledge of basic medical and psychiatric terminology.
  5. Knowledge of principles and techniques involved in the care and treatment of individuals or groups of mentally ill, emotionally disturbed, or intellectually disabled patients.
  6. Knowledge of contra-indications, side effects, and signs of medication complications.
  7. Ability to apply routine psychiatric/medical nursing care to mentally ill, emotionally disturbed, or intellectually disabled patients.
  8. Recognize symptoms indicative of adverse patient reactions.
  9. Communicate effectively in written and spoken English.
  10. Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken Spanish preferred.
  11. Express ideas clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
  12. Ability to use necessary equipment to complete job responsibilities.
  13. Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, Office 365, Teams, Zoom, and other communication/meeting platforms.
  14. Possess a valid driver's license and have access to a dependable means of transportation that is properly insured and operated in accordance with all laws.
  15. Ability to pass a criminal background check.
  16. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and TB test.
Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $25.78 - $33.93 per hour for monolingual candidates and $27.10 - $35.66 per hour for bilingual candidates. Additionally, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, Employee Assistance Program, Pension Fund, and many other voluntary benefits.
