The State Bar of Texas Client-Attorney Assistance Program is a state-run initiative designed to resolve minor disputes between clients and their lawyers in Texas. As a Program Associate, you will play a crucial role in staffing the Grievance Information Hotline and responding to public calls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to client inquiries regarding concerns about their lawyer's quality of representation
  • Implement dispute resolution services and maintain correspondence files for clients experiencing difficulties within the attorney-client relationship
  • Educate the public and members of the State Bar about the Program's services
  • Provide referrals to callers whose matters are not within the Program's scope
  • Educate callers about the disciplinary system and their rights to file complaints against their lawyers

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree or four years of related work experience preferred
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills
  • Public relations, human services, counseling, or similar profession experience helpful
  • Hotline staffing skills and knowledge of the legal profession preferred
  • Proficiency in using personal computers, with database experience in Access and Excel
  • Ability to speak and translate Spanish a plus

Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 per year
