Responsibilities:

  • Processing designs in BorgWarner and customer engineering change management systems
  • Completing complex system and component level stack up studies
  • Analyzing and aligning DFMEAs and PFMEAs
  • Approving or rejecting design deviations based on engineering analysis
  • Working with suppliers to improve quality and address non-conformance and cost
  • Creating, reviewing and editing product drawings for design improvement
  • Supporting production with problem solving expertise to identify product issues
  • Conducting root cause analysis and implementation of effective solutions
  • Using datamining software (Python, Matlab, etc.) to problem solve recalls, warranty risk, and product performance challenges in manufacturing

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Automotive Engineering
  • 60 months of experience in the job offered or product engineering and manufacturing
  • Experience with design failure mode and effects analysis (DFMEA) and Product Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA)
  • Engineering experience in tolerance stack-up, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
  • Experience with statistical analysis

Additional Information:

This position requires international and domestic travel, as needed up to 5%.
