Plasma Center Nurse

As a Medical Support Specialist at BioLife Plasma Services, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of plasma donations. Your primary responsibility will be to determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, and review laboratory test results. You will work under the guidance of the Center Manager and the Center Physician to ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Determine donor eligibility, including proper management of informed consent, medical history interview, and physical examination.
- Evaluate donor reactions and follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when in need of guidance concerning medical or technical issues.
- Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
- Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN.
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
- Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy.
- Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.
