About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Fundraising and Partnerships to join our team in Seattle, Washington. This role will be responsible for generating revenue for the Heart Challenge campaign, which includes our signature events.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Revenue Generation: Prospect and secure local corporate sponsorships and individual donations to achieve revenue goals.
  2. Pipeline Development: Conduct research to identify potential corporate sponsors and donors that align with our mission and campaign goals.
  3. Proposal Development: Develop and present proposals to secure revenue and volunteer engagement.
  4. Volunteer Recruitment: Recruit executive volunteer leadership, volunteer committees, and day-of-the-event volunteers.
  5. Corporate Team Engagement: Recruit corporate teams to participate in the Heart Walk and motivate them to fundraise.
  6. Membership Development: Lead and engage new individual members for our Cor Vitae giving society, in partnership with other fundraising staff.
Requirements
  • Experience: 3 years of relevant experience in fundraising, sales, or equivalent type experience.
  • Travel: Ability to do daily local travel; requires access to reliable transportation at all times on an immediate basis.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift and/or move large objects (such as boxes) with the expectation that heavier items would be broken down into smaller components or requesting additional assistance may be required before lifting and/or moving.
  • Technical Skills: Basic knowledge and skill/proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: University/College degree or equivalent experience.
  • Leadership Experience: Experience managing and cultivating high-level leaders at the C-Suite level.
  • Corporate Networks: Knowledge of corporate and community networks.
Compensation

The estimated salary for this role is between $66,700 and $81,200 per year, based on experience and location. The American Heart Association offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance, as well as a robust retirement program and opportunities for professional development.
