Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team at Planned Parenthood of Illinois. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to healthcare providers, including maintaining accurate medical records and inventory counts.
  • Assist with routine lab work, including phlebotomy and specimen collection.
  • Respond to patient inquiries and needs, including fee assessment and insurance coverage.
  • Participate in health center efforts to achieve medical visit efficiency and productivity goals.
  • Provide information, assistance, and support for patients facing emotional, family, and/or financial problems related to healthcare.
  • Assist with medication and contraceptive supply management, including inventory counts and expiration tracking.
  • Support health center operations, including chart audits and quality assurance procedures.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical Assistant Certification or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Previous experience with family planning services, medical laboratory, and/or counseling preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to travel to assigned health center and other PPIL work locations as needed.
