Job Description

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at TydenBrooks.

Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year

About the Role:

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of quality across our manufacturing processes. This role involves working closely with production, engineering, customer service, suppliers, and customers to implement and maintain robust quality systems and standards.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop, Implement, and Maintain Quality Management Systems (QMS): Develop, implement, and maintain QMS in compliance with industry standards, ISO 9001, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct Internal Audits and Coordinate External Audits: Conduct internal audits and coordinate external audits to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Presentation and Reporting: Prepare and present quality performance reports to management and stakeholders.

Process Improvement:

  • Analyze Manufacturing Processes for Improvement: Analyze manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions.
  • Utilize Statistical Process Control and Lean Manufacturing Principles: Utilize SPC and lean manufacturing principles to improve and optimize quality.
  • Develop and Implement Quality KPIs: Develop and implement quality KPIs to drive customer satisfaction.

Product Quality Assurance:

  • Establish, Implement, and Oversee Product Quality Standards: Establish, implement, and oversee product quality standards, inspection criteria, and testing procedures.
  • Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions: Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for product defects and non-conformances.
  • Maintain Quality Procedures and Documentation: Develop and maintain quality procedures and documentation.

Supplier Quality Management:

  • Collaborate with Suppliers: Collaborate with suppliers to ensure raw materials and components meet quality specifications.
  • Supplier Audits and Performance Evaluations: Conduct supplier audits and performance evaluations to maintain a reliable supply chain.
  • Ensure Supplier Compliance: Ensure suppliers' root cause and corrective actions are robust and acceptable.

Customer Satisfaction:

  • Address Customer Quality Concerns: Address customer quality concerns and complaints promptly and effectively.
  • Collaboration with Customer Service Team: Work closely with the customer service team to resolve issues and improve overall customer satisfaction.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify and assess risk related to product quality and manufacturing processes.

Training and Development:

  • Quality Training for Production Staff: Provide training to production staff on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
  • Foster a Culture of Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement and quality awareness across the organization.
  • Train Quality Inspector Team: Train the quality inspector team to standard inspection processes.
  • Problem-Solving Techniques Training: Train the quality and production team in problem-solving techniques.
  • Develop and Maintain Training Materials: Develop and maintain training materials and records for quality-related training.

Requirements:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field. Equivalent experience/education may be considered.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in quality engineering, preferably on electromechanical or related products.
  • Strong Understanding of Quality Control: Strong understanding of quality control principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Proficiency in Root Cause Analysis: Proficiency in root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 9001, ANSI, NEMA, UL standards).
  • Data Analysis Skills: Excellent analytical and data analysis skills.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
